The program requirements for Jackson
Mortuary were an expansion of an additional 6,000 SF that included
slumber rooms and a chapel. The nature of the function requires an
environment that would provide a quiet and dignified service to families
in a moment of emotional stress, and to be as functional as possible
from an administrative and professional level. The solution was based on
the public areas, before and during service, and the professional areas
and their relationship to the many requirements, such as arrangements,
preparation, maintenance of equipment private staff areas. The site
development is an expression of the flexibility achieved for the many
varied functions of a building containing only 6,200 SF. This
development is both within and without the structure.
