| The
program called for the addition of a sanctuary and the renovation of the
existing social and education buildings to house new classrooms, and
multi-purpose room The design of the sanctuary has a subtle exterior
presence. The building maintains a horizontal line of vision, following
the profile of the hill on which it is located. The experience of
entrance slowly unfolds as the worshippers walk up a series of steps and
enter the building through a covered recessed area. Once inside the
sanctuary, the experience of the building changes dramatically. The
space extends vertically and the room is filled with light. The height
of the space is emphasized by the long windows that allow natural
daylight to enter and by the exposed steel truss work on the ceiling.
